Paclitaxel treats advanced ovarian cancer (first and second-line), node-positive and metastatic breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer with cisplatin, and advanced AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma after prior therapy failure.
Dosage and administration
Patients must receive premedication (corticosteroid, antihistamine, H2 antagonist) before paclitaxel to prevent hypersensitivity. It is given via filtered IV infusion with monitored sites, using specific dosing schedules for ovarian and breast cancer.
