Indications
Fluorouracil is indicated for palliative management of common malignancies, specifically colon and breast cancers. It may be used alone or combined with other cytotoxic agents.
Dosage and administration
Initial treatment requires hospitalization. Standard intravenous infusion is 15mg/kg (max 1g) diluted in 500mL glucose 5% or 0.9% NaCl, given over 4 hours daily until toxicity.
