The whole nation that is precisely believing in living a normal life has its eyes stuck on only one thing, for now, i.e., COVID-19 Vaccines. The list of vaccine brands available in the Philippines today includes AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, Sinovac, and Pfizer-BioTech. 

The Filipino have been vaccinated with around eight million so far, but the fully vaccinated people with two doses is only 1.1 million. According to the Philippines, the government has decided vaccines from the COVAX facility will be used for health care workers, the elderly, and persons with comorbidities as A1, A2, and A3, whereas A4 and A5 will also be covered. How to register:

Step 1: Register through your local government, visit the official page/website or find out from the official Facebook page.

Step 2: Fill out the registration form same as ID proof information

Step 3: Wait for your vaccination schedule date as there is no walk-in allowed

Step 4: Prepare your necessary documents to bring that include any government ID proof along with a face mask, face shield, and sanitizer. If you have any other health records, make sure to bring health record certificates and other prior used records.

What is the process included in the 1st dose of the vaccination?

As per the government, there will be listed points includes:

  • Temperature check upon entry. You may not get an entry if your temperature is more than the average temperature range.
  • Confirm your registration by showing valid government ID proof. Your name and other information must be the same as per the registration form. 
  • Read a printed material before taking the vaccination that will be provided to you just before the coronavirus vaccine procedure that includes:

          -a vaccine fact sheet

          -a health screening form

          -an informed consent form

  • If you have any doubts or questions, try to clarify them in the vaccination center.
  • After reading the informed consent form, do your signature on the application form.
  • Then your health screening will start where you need to disclose your complete health history. Even if you have any minor issue, consultants should know about it or be aware of it before the vaccination doses.
  • Finally, wait for the turn and get vaccinated. You will be given your vaccination card with the date of your 2nd dose.
  • After completing your 1st vaccination dose, wait and observe for 15-30 minutes.  

What is the process to do after getting a 1st dose vaccine?

Take a rest at home and self-monitor. COVID-19 vaccination will shield you against the COVID-19 virus. After getting the vaccine, you may feel COVID-19 vaccine side effects such as:

  • tenderness, pain, warmth, redness, itching, or swelling on the arm where you got the injection
  • Generally feeling unwell
  • Feeling tired or fatigue
  • Chills or feeling feverish
  • Headache
  • Joint pain or muscle ache

These are signs that indicate the body is building protection to fight against the virus. If these symptoms worsen, then;

  • consult a doctor or specialists immediately
  • call LGU/ vaccination site hotline
  • call nearest health facility
