A Barista's Inspiring Journey Into Medical Sales

Juris, a 25-year-old graduate with a degree in Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education major in Industrial Arts, never lost sight of her ultimate goal—to become a medical sales representative.

The path of this determined and resilient young woman is a testament to the power of perseverance and self-discovery. Like many, Juris faced a period of anxiety and depression that led her to pause her college education in 2017. However, instead of letting these setbacks define her, she chose to take control of her life and pursue her dreams in unconventional ways.

During her time away from college, Juris explored avenues to support herself and her family. She ventured into being a barista, immersing herself in the bustling coffee shop environment where she discovered a knack for connecting with people and a natural talent for sales. It provided the perfect training ground for honing communication skills and mastering the art of customer service.

Ever since her days as a barista, Juris felt drawn to the world of medical sales. Witnessing medical sales representatives visiting the coffee shop, she was inspired by their work and knew that she wanted to pursue the same career. Through this venture, Juris not only honed her sales job skills but also found a renewed sense of maturity and confidence. It was there that she developed many of the skills that she never imagined would later prove invaluable in her career.

In 2019, with the support and mutual agreement of her parents, she decided to return to college. During this time, Juris also began her journey into online selling, finding a way to balance her studies with her entrepreneurial pursuits.

After graduating, Juris attempted to return to being a barista, but deep down, she knew that her true passion lay elsewhere—in the field of medical sales. When she saw an opportunity arise in the industry, she wasted no time and immediately applied for it, determined to pursue her dream profession.

When asked what advice she could give to others, Juris replied, “trust yourself and pursue what your heart desires.” She also shared that despite encountering some challenges, she loves her job as a medical sales representative. This is a career path she has wanted to pursue since she first set her sights on it, and this deep-seated passion is what motivates her to excel in her role every day. Juris has made a promise to herself to continuously learn and improve in her career.
