Indications
Dexamethasone is indicated for cerebral edema, endocrine disorders, severe allergies, rheumatic, collagen, dermatologic, ophthalmic, respiratory, hematologic, neoplastic, gastrointestinal diseases, edema, and other critical or palliative conditions.
Dosage and administration
Dexamethasone dosing is individualized by disease severity and response. Adults: 0.75–9 mg/day; children: 0.02–0.3 mg/kg/day. Adjust gradually, taper after long-term therapy; specific protocols for MS, allergies, cerebral edema.
