What does Paracetamol Biogesic® 120 mg / 5ml suspension do? Analgesic- Paracetamol is used to relieve mild to moderate pain such as muscle strains due to injuries and accidents, headache and toothache in children.

Antipyretic- Reduce fevers caused by illnesses such as the seasonal or common cold and flu and post-immunization symptoms.

How to take Paracetamol Biogesic® 120 mg / 5ml suspension?

The amount of dosage and frequency depends on the child’s age, weight, and the strength or concentration of the medicine. You can ask your pediatrician or licensed pharmacist to know the proper dose for your child. Dose is usually taken every 4- or 6-hours interval. Always take the child’s temperature before giving the medicine.

If you miss a dose, take the next dose if it’s still needed for pain and/or fever and the subsequent 4 to 6 hours thereafter. Do not double the dose.

When to stop using Biogesic® 120 mg / 5ml suspension?

You can stop taking the medicine as soon as the fever subsides and stop. It is best if you can always monitor your child’s temperature. Fever starts at 37.6°c or higher. It is also advice to stop using Biogesic® for kids suspension or immediately consult your physician if symptoms persists or become worse, redness and swelling is present, fever lasts for more than 3 days, or pain gets severe and lasts more than 10days. It is not recommended to take more than the recommended dose if the symptoms is not relieved after an hour.

Who are NOT recommended to take Biogesic® 120 mg / 5ml suspension?

It is best to check with your pediatrician’s advice before taking Biogesic® for kids if your child has history of anemia or heart, lung, liver, or kidney problems, and is currently taking other medications with Paracetamol content.

It is also important to determine if a child had previous allergic reactions to it.

What are the common signs of overdosage Biogesic® 120 mg / 5ml suspension?

Allergic skin reactions- Hypersensitivity to its components may induce rashes or swelling.

Gastrointestinal disturbance- Eating disorder, nausea, vomiting, and malaise recur and jaundice and possible kidney failure.

When you suspected your child to accidentally take too much? Paracetamol, it is recommended to call your pediatrician or go to the nearest hospital emergency room as soon as possible to seek immediate medical attention. Do not forget to take with you any remaining medicine and its box or drug literature with you to show your attending health professional in order to determine the steps in preventing serious liver damage.
